Escobaria

Escobaria are from a small but wide spread genius.  These small cacti are very attractive and the listed plants do fine in very cold conditions with good drainage.


ES001: Escobaria leei   My favorite little trough plant.  One of the rarest plants in my collection.  Plants are about 2 inches high and 6 inches across after many years.  Zone 4.  Much smaller than similar species Escobaria sneedii.  Pale pink flowers.  5 year old plant $20.

 

ES002: Escobaria sneedii   A choice little clump-former with snow-white spines and tiny, pinkish flowers.  Ideal for trough gardens and rock gardens.  Zone 4.  Franklin Mountains, Texas/New Mexico.  Quite rare.  4 year old plants, $24


ES003 Escobaria missouriensis.  The most cold hardy Escobaria, native to to the great plains.  Carmel colored flowers in May followed by abundent red berries that persist all winter.  Zone 2 $6

 

ES004 Escobaria orcuttii (white, snowball form), . Solitary, white snowballs to 4 inches in diameter. Coppery colored flowers in May. Zone 5. From West Texas 3 years old, $10
