The reddest polyacantha that I've seen. Collected by Allan Taylor near Cheyenne-Wells, Colorado. Uniformly cloaked in 1 inch long white spines. Deep, rosy-red flowers in June. 8" high by 48" wide. Zone 4. Sold as unrooted cutting.
A vigorous strain with internode growth twice the size of the Colorado strain. Very thick stems. Magenta flowers. This plant crests (fasciates) readily. 72" high and wide. Zone 5. Susceptible to damage by heavy snow. Believed to be from West Texas. Sold as unrooted cutting.
Deep pink flowers in June on a beautiful, dwarf cushion, very choice. Plump, round pads. No spines, tiny glochids. 4" high by 18" wide. Zone 3. Excellent in outdoor containers. (Claude Barr selection, Canada?) Dry fruit. Sold as rooted, 2.5" potted plant.

Ideal for the smaller garden or large pot: Garnet Glow is only 6" high x 36" wide. The petite pads are quite spineless with vivid, Garnet Red flowers in May and June. Garnet Glow often reblooms several times. Sold as unrooted cutting.

Papaya red, ruffled flowers in May and June. This is a color RARE in winter hardy cacti. This reblooming beavertail is quite spineless with light green pads.

The Texas Red Yucca is a favorite in our garden. The tubular coral-red flowers are on graceful 4-5 foot high stems from early June through September! It is definitely the hummingbirds' favorite food source. Graceful green foliage turns maroon in winter.
